Daily Health & Wellness procedures

If a child is ill with any contagious or communicable illness, they may not be admitted to Delaney Wright Fine Arts Preschool Eagle Rock for the day.

Staff members conduct a quick health check of the child at drop-off each morning and if, in their opinion, the child is ill or not well enough to remain at school, the staff member will refuse to admit the child for the day. A good rule of thumb is if the child is not well enough to play outside and run around during the day, they are not well enough to be at school and need to stay at home to rest.

A child should not attend if they are showing any of the following signs, among others:

• a fever of 100.4° or higher (temperature needs to remain stable without the use of fever-

  reducing medicine before returning to school),

• vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours,

• child is complaining of a sore throat or upset stomach,

• child is coughing excessively and/or child’s nose is severely congested,

• child is unusually irritable or listless or,

• clear signs of a contagious infection, such as pink eye, lice, etc.
